We had all arrived in Winchester early in the afternoon, in order to get settled in for our overnight investigation at the Hotel Mercure Wessex Winchester, later that evening. We met up and discussed with the hotel manager James what we had planned to do for the night and what we would investigate. He had kindly arranged for Terry to look after our group for the night and grant us access to various locations within the hotel. James had very generously arranged for our group to have separate rooms further along the corridor from the two rooms where two guests had previously committed suicide namely Rooms 110 & 116.

We had been previously warned not to reveal to staff working at the hotel of our investigation, or speak of the investigation we were about to undertake.

SPI has conducted a thorough investigation at the Hotel Mercure Wessex Winchester. We really are only scratching the surface on this one! We still believe this hotel has many hidden depths which have not yet manifested themselves so far. We think in this investigation we have nevertheless captured a lot of visual and sound type phenomena, which we can’t explain, and would certainly classify as paranormal. We think if it were possible for SPI to reinvestigate we would like to spend more time in the old manager’s office and possibly the basement. SPI would like to say a massive thank you to James for allowing us to investigate the hotel and to Terry for looking after our group on the night.
