This is definitely one piece of equipment that everyone should have on an investigation as a photo can provide very credible evidence which added to the case file to confirm other occurrences which may have been around at the time on an investigation . We as group don’t particularly recommend a make but would advise on getting a digital camera with at least 5 mega pixels or more these can now be brought fairly cheaply.

SPI is lucky enough to have two of these digital cameras at our disposal . We plan to make full use of them in future investigations ! Specification 9.1 megapixels with 15x zoom and Optical SteadyShot . This particular camera has the Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens , it also has the NightShot feature which is very similar to the Sony camcorders NightShot , we must emphasis the range is limited .

Professionally modified camera that has been returned it to it's ultra sensitive state
allowing the maximum amount of invisible light waves to enter the lens thus increasing the
possibility of capturing images of those things which reside within the IR and UV light ranges.
